Alsace-Vosges Landscapes
My region, my first light. The Vosges in mist, hop fields at dawn, forests in January. A territory I have never finished learning.
Lispach Peat Bog
A peat bog high in the Vosges, above a thousand metres. Time moves differently here. Black water, rushes, silence: a landscape that turns its back on the world.
Autumn
October and November in the Vosges. Beeches turn copper, mornings smell of wet earth, and the light, coming in low, lands just right.
Forest Atmosphere
Beneath the beeches and firs of the Vosges, light filters, hesitates, settles. This undergrowth has its own density, a silence that is not the absence of sound.
Spring-Summer
The Alsatian countryside between April and August: vines coming back to life, golden fields, that early morning light skimming the hills before the heat takes over.
Winter
Alsace and the Vosges under snow or frost. Colours fade, forms sharpen. The cold forces a different way of seeing.
